World's first double-ended Ro-Ro ship departed Xinde Marine News Vivian Xu 2023-02-28 15:44


On February 28, Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) held the departure ceremony of the world's first four-way-drive battery hybrid electric Ro-Ro ship for P&O Ferries. After that, the ship will operate in the English Channel, mainly between Dover and Calais.


It also be the world's largest double-ended Ro-Ro ship. The ship will be equipped with 1,160 large capacity batteries, with a capacity of 8.8 MWh, equivalent to 150 passenger electric cars. Battery charging mode is divided into two types. One is to use shore power to charge. The other is to use the ship's generators to charge
