According to Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the market share of China's shipbuilding industry in the first three quarters of 2022 continued to lead the world, and the industry's revenue and profits achieved double growth.
 
From January to September 2022, China’s shipbuilding completion volume was 27.8 million dwt, a year-on-year decrease of 8.4%, of which sea-going ships were 9.16 million CGT; The new ship orders received were 32.45 million dwt, a year-on-year decrease of 40.1%, of which sea-going ships were 15.41 million CGT.
 
As of the end of September, the number of ship orders in hand was 102.56 million dwt, an increase of 11.0% year-on-year, of which sea-going ships were 43.17 million CGT, and export ships accounted for 89.1% of the total.
 
From January to September, China's shipbuilding completions, new orders and hand-held orders accounted for 45.9%, 53.6% and 48.0% of the global total in terms of deadweight, and 42.6%, 48.3% and 41.3%, ranking first in the world.
 
In the first three quarters, China's shipbuilding industry continued to lead the international market share, especially the proportion of high-end ship types continued to increase. From January to September, PCTCs accounted for 83% of the global market, and container ships with over 10,000 containers accounted for 51.7% of the global market, ranking first in the world. Among the new orders, green-powered ships accounted for nearly half, reaching 48.6%.
 
In addition, statistics from January to September show that the profit of the entire industry is close to 5 billion (yuan), an increase of 33.7% over the same period last year.
