China Mar coal imports soar 46.24% on mth Sxcoal 2022-04-14 09:38

China's coal imports totaled 16.42 million tonnes in March, jumping 46.24% or 5.19 million tonnes from 11.23 million tonnes in February, showed data from the General Administration of Customs (GAC).
The March figure was 39.91% or 10.91 million tonnes lower than 27.33 million tonnes in March 2021.
 
Value of the imports totaled $2.32 billion, increasing 6.69% year on year and 34.35% month on month. Sxcoal calculated the average import price at $140.97/t, up $61.57/t year on year but down $12.48/t month on month.
 
China imported a total of 51.81 million tonnes of coal in January-March, down 24.2% on the year, expanding 10.2 percentage points from January-February level. The imports value was $8.18 billion, up 69.7% on the year, the GAC data showed.
