1+1 ships! DSIC enters the large-scale LNG carrier market xinde marine news Sarah Yu 2021-12-21 16:45

On December 17th, at CSSC's Projects Concentration Signing Ceremony, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry and China Shipbuilding Trading signed a 1+1 large-scale LNG carrier cooperation letter of intent with China Merchants Energy Shipping.

This marks that DSIC has officially entered the large-scale LNG carrier market.

The main content of the letter of intent for the signing of the contract is that the two parties discuss the construction and cooperation of the 175,000 m3 Mark III Flex LNG carrier.

The ship type development has completed the basic design tasks and has been awarded AIP by LR and CCS.

Joining hands to enter the "new field" of "green energy" transportation will help strengthen the overall international competitiveness of China's shipbuilding industry and contribute to the realization of the "dual carbon" goal.

LNG carrier is an internationally recognized high-tech, high-difficulty, and high-value-added product. At present, only the United States, China, Japan, South Korea and a few European countries can build it.
