On June 26, the largest marine scientific research ship, "ZHONG SHAN DA XUE", was delivered to Sun Yat-sen University by Jiangnan Shipyard under CSSC.
 
"Sun Yat-sen University" is a marine comprehensive scientific research ship with the largest design displacement and the strongest comprehensive scientific research performance in China.
 
The length is 114.3 meters, the width is 19.4 meters, the depth is 9.25 meters, and the design draft is 6.0 meters. The ship has an economic speed of 12.0 knots, a maximum trial speed of 16.5 knots, a displacement of 6,880 tons, a range of 15,000 nautical miles at economic speed, and a self-sustaining capacity of 60 days for a rated crew of 100 people.
 
The ship is classified into China Classification Society (CCS). It is a new generation of large-scale marine comprehensive scientific research ship with B3 Ice Class enhancement, DC bus + battery energy storage technology, DP1 dynamic positioning capability, global navigation capability and operation in polar ice area.
