On March 15, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding signed a contract for the construction of two 190,000 dwt dual-fuel bulk carriers with Singapore's Anglo American.

The two vessels are dual-fuel bulk carriers powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and supplemented by diesel.

The vessel has a total length of 300 meters, a width of 47.5 meters, a structural draft of 18.25 meters, and a service speed of 12 knots, meeting Tier III discharge requirements and HCSR requirements.

Anglo American operates about 30 bulk carriers, ranging from Handysize bulk carriers to capesize bulk carriers.

The successful signing of the project further solidifies Waigaoqiao's leading position in the LNG-powered dual fuel large bulk carrier market.
