China DSIC Confirms Two VLOC Order with SK Shipping
 


It is learned that SK Shipping, a South Korean shipowner, recently confirmed that it has ordered a total of two VLOC vessels of 325,000 DWT each with DSIC cost of approximately USD 74.2 million and is expected to be delivered in March and May 2021.
 
The two VLOCs will be adopted the LNG-ready configuration to meet the IMO Tier III emission standards. After delivery, Vale will be leased for a term of 20 to 25 years.
 
This is part of Vale's VLOC order. Last year, Vale signed the COA with seven shipping companies, including Polaris Shipping, Pan Ocean, H-LineShipping, SK Shippingh and Korea Line Corporation, as well as ICBC Leasing and China Ore Shipping, the duration of the contract is 20-25 years.
