China SWS Delivered 20119 TEU COSCO Shipping Taurus
 
In 2015, China COSCO Shipping Group dropped 11 orders of 20000 TEU ships at four domestic shipyards.
 


On January 16 this year, the first ship of its series, COSCO SHIPPING ARIES which was built by Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering, a subsidiary of COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry was named and delivered in Nantong. It is a domestic-made first-generation of 20,000 TEU container ships with independent intellectual property rights.
 


On Jan 27, the second ship of the series, COSCO Shipping Taurus with its carrying capacity of 20119 TEU, was also successfully delivered on the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS).
 


With the successful construction and delivery of the 20119 TEU series of container ships, China will gradually shift from technology follower to innovation leader in the field of design and construction of very large container vessels and become a real shipbuilding power in the world.
