National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) contacted two Far East shipyards and planned to order 6 + 4 MR product tankers.

Bahri plans to expand its fleet and has contacted Hyundai Mipo and New Times Shipbuilding to submit a plan for a 50000 DWT tanker.

National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia said early last year it planned to order ships and began to make inquiries by the third quarter, and only contacted the above two shipyards, according to sources.

A shipbuilding broker estimates that the current price of a new MR tanker is less than $35 million.
