Yangzijiang Shipbuilding officially announced that it has received one of the largest new ship orders in history-10 14000TEU dual fuel container ship orders!

Under the background that the new shipbuilding market was affected by the epidemic and fell into a downturn, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding was favored by "old customers" and finally won a large order of US $1.15 billion. This made Yangzijiang Shipbuilding surpass half of the annual target, and also became the first private shipbuilding enterprise capable of building LNG powered large container ships in China.

On March 16, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding announced that it had obtained orders for 2 + 8 14000teu dual fuel container ships, each of which was worth US $115 million, with a total contract value of US $1.15 billion (about RMB 8.065 billion). These container ships are scheduled to be delivered by mid-2022.

This is one of the largest new ship orders in the history of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, and it is also the first time that Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has obtained an order for LNG powered large container ships.

The deal comes from Tiger Group, a Hong Kong shipbuilding investment company. Previously, foreign media reported that Greathorse Tiger, a newly established subsidiary of Tiger Group, placed an order to build 14000teu dual fuel container ships in Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, and the new ships will be equipped with B-type tanks.

Tiger Group is controlled by Canadian investors Graham Porter and Wang Yougui(Gerry Wang), founders of Seaspan. Graham Porter, Wang Yougui and Seaspan are long-term partners of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding. The cooperation between the two parties started as early as 1994.
