An offshore wind power industrial park project broke ground at Haiyang Nuclear Power Equipment Manufacturing Park in Haiyang, Yantai, East China's Shandong province on Dec 18.

The project, first of its kind in Shandong province, is being supported by Envision Group, the world's digital energy technology leader, headquartered in Shanghai.

The project, with a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan ($214.28 million), will be constructed in three phrases.

The first phrase will cost 360 million yuan and will consist of an offshore wind turbine manufacturing center covering an area of 113 mu (7.53 hectares).

Four production lines are planned which are expected to produce 300 sets of offshore wind turbines a year, each turbine with a capacity of more than 5MW.

As the second largest supplier of intelligent wind turbines in China, Envision has established global R&D centers in Singapore, Denmark, Germany and the United States.

It is engaged in the production of wind turbines, intelligent wind farms, intelligent energy storage, and the development of energy internet of things platforms.

Haiyang, located on the shore of the Yellow Sea, boasts a 212-kilometer coastline and a sea area of 1,829 square kilometers, making it highly suitable for the development of wind power.
