PetroChina orders 3 more 174,000 m3 LNG carriers at Hudong

On June 18, Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding, China Shipbuilding Trading and the joint party represented by PetroChina International signed a LNG transportation project in Shanghai for 3 174,000 m3 LNG carrier construction.

This is the second time that central enterprises such as PetroChina and CSSC have joined hands to build China's LNG transportation industry chain following the construction of three ships in June last year.

The project adopts the fourth-generation "Changxing Series" large-scale 174,000 m3 LNG ship design independently developed by Hudong Zhonghua. The ship is 295 meters long, 45 meters wide, 26.25 meters deep, and has a speed of 19.5 knots. It adopts the world's latest generation of dual-fuel low-speed propulsion power system.

This type of ship is equipped with advanced environmental protection devices, whether it is operated in gas or oil mode, it can meet the most stringent emission standards of IMO.

On June 30 last year, Hudong Zhonghua and PetroChina cooperated for the first time and signed three 174,000 m3 LNG carrier construction projects.

On June 18 this year, Hudong Zhonghua held a docking ceremony for the first ship of the project, marking the official start of a new stage of construction of the ship in the dock.

According to statistics, Hudong Zhonghua has delivered 24 large-scale LNG carriers.
