CNOOC discovered 100 million tons of oil in Bohai

On May 26, China National Offshore Oil Corporan was informed that the Ministry of Natural Resources recently completed the review and filing of the Kenli 6-1 Oilfield.

Up to now, the proven geological reserves of oil in Kenli 6-1 oilfield exceed 100 million tons, marking that this oilfield has become China's first large-scale oilfield of 100 million tons in the northern area of Laizhou Bay in China.

Kenli 6-1 oilfield is another major discovery made by CNOOC in the Bohai Sea, following the 19-6 in Bohai.

Kenli 6-1 oilfield is located in the northern area of the Laizhou Bay in the Bohai Sea and belongs to the Bohai Oilfield, the largest offshore oilfield in China.

The discovery of Kenli 6-1 oilfield is the result of CNOOC's liberation and change of thinking in the exploration field, breaking the situation of no commercial oil and gas discovery in the northern area of the Laizhou Bay for more than 40 years.

In the past two years, CNOOC has drilled 42 exploration wells in the field. It has been confirmed that Kenli 6-1 oilfield has the characteristics of large reserves, good oil products, high test production capacity, etc., and the oil-bearing area exceeds 100 square kilometers.

According to the calculation of crude oil recovery ratio, after being refined into gasoline and diesel, it can be used for 1 million vehicles for more than 20 years.

After the oil field is put into production, it will bring considerable social and economic benefits.
