In a significant leadership transition, Wang Guoqiang, currently Vice President and Party Secretary of China FAW Group Corporation (FAW), is set to take on the role of General Manager at China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) starting in early 2025.

Wang brings over three decades of expertise from the automotive sector, where he was instrumental in driving FAW’s transformation, particularly in new energy vehicles. Under his leadership, FAW saw a 42.8% growth in its new energy vehicle sales in 2024, cementing its position as a leader in both domestic and international markets.

As he steps into the General Manager role at CSSC, one of the world’s largest and most influential shipbuilding giants, Wang’s leadership is expected to bring fresh strategic direction. His experience in smart manufacturing, technology integration, and global market expansion will be key in driving CSSC’s innovations in green technology, intelligent ships, and global competitiveness.

Wang’s appointment is part of broader leadership changes at CSSC, with Xu Peng appointed Chairman and Party Secretary, and Hu Xianfu as Vice General Manager. With this enhanced leadership team, CSSC is poised for accelerated growth and transformation on the global stage.

The appointment of Wang Guoqiang as General Manager marks a new chapter for CSSC, ushering in a fresh era of leadership and innovation.
