Box throughput down at Port of Hong Kong Hong Kong Maritime Hub 2023-08-17 10:06


Containers handled by the Port of Hong Kong during July totaled 1.197m teu, reflecting a fall of 17.9%.
 
Drilling down into the figures, the throughput at the Kwai Tsing terminals was down 18.2% at 932,000 teu, as the midstream operators handled 265,000 teu, a reduction of 16.6% compared to July 2022.
 
The cumulative throughput at the Port of Hong Kong for the first seven months of the year stands at 8.332m teu, a shortfall of 15.8% compared to the same period in 2022.
