On March 24, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of CSSC, and China Shipbuilding Trading delivered the third 174,000 m3 large-scale LNG carrier "KUN LUN" for COSCO SHIPPING PetroChina International's LNG transportation project. This is the first large LNG carrier delivered in China this year.

After "KUN LUN" is put into operation, it will join hands with "SHAO LIN" and "WU DANG", which were delivered last year, to form China's LNG maritime transport matrix, and to further improve the LNG transport capacity of the Chinese fleet.

"KUN LUN" is a mainstream large LNG carrier in the world, independently developed by Hudong-Zhonghua. The ship has a total length of 295 meters, a molded width of 45 meters, a molded depth of 26.25 meters, and a speed of 19.5 knots. It is classified into LR and CCS.

Currently, Hudong-Zhonghua has nearly 50 orders for LNG ships. 2023 is the key year for Hudong-Zhonghua to double its LNG ship capacity. It plans to deliver 4 to 5 large LNG ships in the year, and it is expected to build a record 16 LNG ships this year.
