Taiwanese carrier Yang Ming to increase scrubber usage Xinde Marine News Vivian Xu 2023-01-19 10:10


According to Alphaliner, Taiwanese carrier Yang Ming is set to increase scrubber investment to retrofit scrubbers on the remainder of the line's eight owned 8,626 TEU units. Currently five of the carrier’s 8,626 TEU ships are fitted with the exhaust cleaning equipment.

Yang Ming has installed scrubber on 32 ships with a total capacity of about 300,000 TEU. Yang Ming is the ninth largest container shipping company in the world. It operates 93 ships, of which 51 are owned.

Evergreen Marine, the world's sixth largest shipping company based in Taiwan, has installed scrubber on 150 ships. It manages 209 ships, of which 127 are owned.

The world's largest container line had the most scrubber fitted on its ships, with 218 of them.

COSCO Shipping currently has only 38 ships equipped with such systems.
