World's largest new DP tanker "NS PIONEER" officially delivered!

On March 30, Xinde Marine News learned from CNOOC that the world's largest DP shuttle tanker "NS PIONEER", independently designed and built by China, was officially delivered in CSSC Dalian Shipbuilding Industry, achieving a dual breakthrough in the domestic shipping and shipbuilding industry.

"NS PIONEER" was commissioned by Shanghai Northsea Shipping, a subsidiary of CNOOC Petrochemicals Import & Export, to be tailor-made by DSIC for the world's largest deep-water oil and gas field - Buzios and Mero, marking DSIC's return to the shuttle tanker construction market.

The tanker has a capacity of 155,000 dwt, a total length of 279 meters, a width of 48 meters, and a depth of 23.7 meters. It adopts the DP2 system. It is the first new DP tanker built in accordance with the latest technical specifications of Petrobras, and is also the largest DP tanker built in the world according to this standard.

The ship has low energy consumption and is maneuverable. Its nitrogen oxide emissions reached Tier III standards, and its EEDI reached Phase Ⅱ.

The official delivery of "NS PIONEER" will make CNOOC the first Chinese company to operate DP tankers in international and domestic waters at the same time, realizing a "zero" breakthrough for Chinese shipowners in the international DP tanker market.
