Guangdong province released port layout plan

Recently, People's Government of Guangdong Province released the port layout plan from 2021-2035.
 
According to the plan, Guangdong Province takes the Pearl River Delta ports as the core, and the eastern and western Guangdong ports as the development pole. By 2025, Guangzhou port and Shenzhen port will basically be established as world-class ports; ports in the Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong and Macao will basically become world-class ports in the GBA; ports in Shantou and Zhanjiang will basically become hub ports in eastern and western Guangdong. By 2035, the Ports of Guangzhou and Shenzhen will be built into world-class ports, and the ports of Zhuhai, Shantou and Zhanjiang will reach world-class levels.
 
Foster a multi-tiered development pattern featuring coordinated development. The multi-level port development pattern with Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Shantou, Zhanjiang, Foshan, Zhaoqing and Qingyuan as the main ports and other ports as regional important ports has been clarified to promote port development.
 
Build a port cluster with international competitiveness. The plan is to establish three port clusters in the Pearl River Delta, eastern Guangdong and western Guangdong, and jointly build world-class port clusters with Hong Kong and Macao, taking port clusters as the basic form.
 
Enhance port public infrastructure support capacity. It is proposed that the navigation capacity of coastal waterways can adapt to the trend of global ship upsizing and basically meet the needs of the world's largest cargo ships entering and leaving ports and the development needs of large integrated coastal port areas. Strengthen the protection of anchorage resources, enhance the anti-typhoon ability of anchorage, guarantee the safety of port transportation.
