China Merchants Jinling takes effect on an order for a 49,800 dwt bulk carrier

On May 15, Ningbo Marine Company Limited issued an announcement regarding the exercise of the option to order a 49,800 dwt bulk carrier.
 
On December 30, 2020, Ningbo Marine Company Limited and China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) signed a contract for the construction of 3 49,800 dwt bulk carriers, among which 2 vessels have been confirmed to be built and 1 vessel is the selected vessel to be confirmed.
 
As of May 12, 2021, Ningbo Marine's order option to select the vessel will take effect, and the ship construction contract will finally take effect and begin to be performed.
 
Ningbo Marine has previously signed a contract with Jinling Shipyard for the construction of 3 49,800 dwt bulk carriers through public bidding. This is the second cooperation between the two parties after the order of 3 49,500 dwt bulk carriers in 2015.
 
The three new ships, with a total investment of no more than 540 million yuan and a price of 180 million yuan per ship, will be paid in six installments for each ship. According to the contract, the new ships will be delivered by the end of 2022.
