COSCO SHIPPING Lines Announces the Launch of OCEAN Alliance Day Eight Product in 2024 COSCO Shipping 2024-03-18 14:18

With the agreement to extend the cooperation by at least five years, it demonstrates the determination of OCEAN Alliance to pursue stable and reliable service to customers. The launch of the OCEAN Alliance DAY 8 Product in 2024 continues stability and coherence of service. Boasting around 355 vessels with an aggregate capacity of around 4.82 million TEUs and more than 480 direct Port Pairs, OCEAN Alliance continuously optimize the frequency and coverage of services to meet the direct calling requirement from customers. They are committed to continuously improving service quality, adopting flexible, practical measures to cope with changes, assisting the stability of global supply chain with more stable and predictable services.
 
OCEAN Alliance is committed to practice the concepts of "green, low-carbon" and enhancing the development of green fleet, to fulfill the carriers’ social responsibilities of Green Shipping.
 
The OCEAN Alliance DAY 8 product to be launched in April 2024 will cover 37 services and COSCO SHIPPING has 3 Non-OA Transatlantic loops:
 
•      6 Far East - North Europe services
•      4 Far East - Mediterranean services
•     20 Trans-Pacific services (including 12 West Coast North America services, 8 East Coast North America and U.S. Gulf services)
•      5 Trans-Atlantic services(including 3 Non-OA loop)
•      3 Middle East services
•      2 Red Sea services (direct calling + transshipment)
 
6 Asia-North Europe services
 
To ensure the transit time from Far East to North Europe, all Asia-North service products will focus on the direct calling to North Europe ports. The original Mediterranean ports and volume will be transferred to DAY 8 Asia-Mediterranean. Meanwhile, they will strengthen the deployment to Asia-North Europe services and release schedule in due course to provide more stable and visible service to customers. 
 
Their products comply with the "green and low-carbon" concept, the accuracy, frequency, and predictability of schedules will be significantly improved. Meanwhile, OCEAN Alliance maintains the most comprehensive coverage among the market, covering 16 Asian ports, 14 Northwest European ports, and about 80 direct port pairs. Relying on the advantages of transshipment hubs such as Zeebrugge, Rotterdam and Gdansk, as well as its regional network services, covers countries such as Spain, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, and Finland.

4 Asia-Mediterranean services
 
OCEAN Alliance will provide total of 4 Asia-Mediterranean services. 2 loops will cover West Med to provide tailored service of Italy and Spain first call respectively. The other 2 loops cover Greece and Turkey of East Med and Adriatic Sea with around 100 direct port-pair coverage.
 
Meanwhile, by concentrating resources to make two Asia-Piraeus express and Leveraging the transshipment hub of Piraeus, with 12 loops in feeder network operated by Diamond Line, a subsidiary of COSCO SHIPPING, and the synergies brought by China-Europe Railway Express, its services will be extended to Central / Eastern Europe, the Balkans, the East Mediterranean Sea, the Adriatic Sea and the Black Sea regions to meet the requirements of customers in frequency and coverage.

20 Trans-Pacific services
 
The trans-Pacific services of DAY 8 product to be launched from 2024 May will present customers with 8 Pacific Southwest services, 4 Pacific Northwest services and 8 Far East - East Coast North America and U.S. Gulf services including around 160 direct port pairs. 
 
They consolidate the services between China and North America, and provide express shipping services connecting South China, East China and North China and North America. 
 
At the same time, in alignment with the trend of supply chain diversity, they keep improving 9 stable direct services between Southeast Asia and North America. To comply with changes on cargo flow, they continuously consolidate their product for West Coast, and enhance the network on East Coast and Gulf. 
 
8 Pacific Southwest services
 
In 2024, OCEAN Alliance will provide total of 8 Pacific Southwest services.

The PNW services to be launched in 2024 consist of 4 loops, providing unique connections between Far East and Northwest North America, by calling 4 key ports in the Northwest North America in each loop so as to offer customized services.

The USEC services of DAY 8 product will maintain 8 loops, including 3 New York Express, 3 South Atlantic Express and 2 Gulf Express. Among them, there will be 1 additional loop covering Southeast Asia on top of 3 services, and new coverage of Laem Chabang, Haiphong and Yokohama are added.

COSCO SHIPPING Lines will provide 5 reliable direct loops between the major ports of North Europe and Mediterranean, the United States and Mexico with total 105 port pairs.

In Day 8, OCEAN Alliance will provide 3 loops with reliable, efficient and fast connections between Far East and the Middle East with around 30 port pairs. The MEX service, operated by COSCO SHIPPING Lines and OOCL dual brand, will continue to guarantee its regularity of departures by deploying flagship 20K TEU vessels. With seamless feeder connections via the transshipment hub of Abu Dhabi, they can serve their customers to major Middle East countries including Kuwait, Iraq, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar etc.
 
MEX: Qingdao – Shanghai – Ningbo – Nansha – Singapore -Jebel Ali – Abu Dhabi – Dammam -Abu Dhabi – Port Kelang – Qingdao;

They take measures as direct + transshipment mode for continuity and security, to deliver cargo to destination by mainline shipping and inland transshipment.
