China Shipping bulletins on October 16,2019


1.China saw robust growth of major bulk commodity imports in the first nine months of this year, data from the General Administration of Customs (GAC) showed Monday.

2.China's Yantai Port Group aims to launch two jointly-owned liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage facilities by 2022 and expects government approval for them this month, sources said. 

3.Shenzhen-listed bulk commodity trader Zheshang Development has announced a plan to acquire Zhejiang Shipping Group from its controlling shareholder Zhejiang Communications Investment Group.

4.Nanjing Tanker, a tanker unit of China Merchants Group, has issued a tender offer for the construction of a 24,000 dwt crude tanker.

5.Caofeidian, one leading port in northern China's Tangshan city, has been ramping up its coal throughput capacity, with latest progress embodied in the trial operation of Huadian coal terminal. 

6.Hong Kong's Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), now a Cosco unit, has cancelled numerous Asia-Europe round-trip sailings due to expected low seasonal demand.

7.China's research icebreaker Xuelong, or Snow Dragon, has returned to Shanghai after a recent complete overhaul, ready for the country's upcoming 36th Antarctic expedition.

8.2019 China Marine Economy Expo opens in Shenzhen.The expo, under the theme of "Sharing Blue Economy Opportunities, Building a Shared Future".
