China Shipping bulletins on June 24,2019


1.The global first intelligent No.82 VLCC (308,000 DWT), constructed for China Merchants Steamship (CMES) by DSIC delivered successfully on June 22, 2019 in Dalian. Captain Xie, the Chairman of DMES named the ship “New Journey”.
 
2.Japan’s shipping major Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has signed a charter deal with Hong Kong LNG Terminal Limited for a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU).
 
3.Hong Kong's power firms Castle Peak Power Company Limited (CAPCO) and The Hongkong Electric Co., Ltd. (HKElectric) today announced that an agreement has been entered into with Shell Eastern Trading for long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply for the Hong Kong Offshore Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal.
 
4.China’s iron ore output expanded faster in May, official data showed.The country’s iron ore output totaled 70.787 million tonnes last month, up 1.5 percent year on year, faster than the 1.2-percent growth in April, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said.
 
5.Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers, the multi-purpose shipping unit of Cosco, has placed an order at CSSC’s Guangzhou Shipyard International for the construction of a semi-submersible heavy lift ship.
