China Shipping bulletins on May 9,2019


1.The US has every reason to collaborate with China in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in order to enhance connectivity and jointly mitigate global development issues, according to a senior Chinese diplomat.
 
2.China International Marine Containers (CIMC), the world’s largest container manufacturer, has launched lawsuits at a court in Qingdao against Singamas Container Holdings and China Cosco Shipping alleging patent infringement.
 
3.United European Car Carriers (UECC) has signed a contract to build two new hybrid-powered, LNG-fueled PCTCs with China Ship Building Trading and Jiangnan Shipyard. The new ships will be equipped with a battery hybrid LNG propulsion system which will place UECC beyond IMO’s target for a 40 percent reduction in carbon intensity by 2030.
 
4.Hong Kong-listed Kerry Logistics Network Limited has expanded its food-related cold chain capability in Mainland China through the establishment of Kerry Cold Chain Solution Ltd, to tap into the fast-growing domestic market of niche food products.
 
5.Guangzhou Port, one of the major coastal container ports in South China, signed a package of cooperative agreements with a number of international ports on Wednesday, to facilitate its cargo-handling capacity and better serve the local economy.
 
6.China's iron ore futures finished lower on Wednesday.The most active contract for September 2019 delivery finished the day session down 1.15 percent to 643 yuan per ton. 
 
7.A NEW semi-automated container terminal in Vado Ligure in northern Italy between Genoa and Nice will open in mid-December, reports Singapore's Splash 247.The terminal, jointly owned by Maersk's APM Terminals (50.1%), 40% by Cosco Shipping Ports and 9.9% by Qingdao Port International Development, will start from 450-metre quay with, 16 metres alongside worked by four ship-to-shore cranes handling ships of up to 23 rows across.
 
8.Hong Kong's Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), now a Cosco unit, has announced that it's enhancing its North Europe service network with the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent by introducing two new services.
