China Shipping bulletins on Feb 18,2019


1.Chinese state-run shipping giant Cosco is ordering up to 30 newcastlemax bulk carriers at domestic yards to support its long-term shipping project with Aluminum Corporation of China (Chalco), marking the largest ever bulker order placed by the company.
 
2.HONG KONG (AFP) - Hong Kong's port, which once vied with rival Singapore for global dominance, has slipped out of the world's top five busiest shipping container terminals for the first time, new data has revealed.
 
3.China's manned deep-sea submersible Jiaolong is scheduled to dive 7,000 meters into the Marianas Trench in the western Pacific Ocean, the world's deepest known natural trench, in July as part of the country's effort to make its mark in exploring the mysteries of that dark world.
