China Shipping bulletins on Feb 13,2019


1.The state owned Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC) leading Chinese heavy equipment manufacturer, has announced it is to set up in Fuzhou, Fujian province to expand its business.
 
2.Hong Kong Marine Department issued a shipping note informing of ten pieces of amended and two pieces of new Hong Kong legislation, which implements the latest technical requirements in relation to the construction and survey of ships and the fire safety requirements of ships stipulated in Chapter II-1 and II-2 of SOLAS.
 
3.The Japan P&I Club obtained navigation warnings of the China Waters issued by China MSA.The warnings will take place because of maintenance operation of channels of Yangtze Estuary,well exploration operation,3d seismic data acquisition project,and survey on the submarine cable from Zhenhai and Dapengshan Island.
 
4.China State Shipbuilding Corp (CSSC) offshoot CS Shipping is selling one of its VLCCs via an auction on the Guangzhou Shipping Exchange.The base price for the 281,705-dwt CS Pioneer (built 1998) has been set at $14.7m, according to the exchange.

6.Capacity growth on the Asia/Europe maritime routes are set for substantial increases in 2019 and 2020, with vessels aggregating nearly 1.1 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) set to be delivered in the period, following an increase of 530,000 TEU capacity delivered in 2018.
 
7.LR and University Maritime Advisory Services have released‘Zero-Emission Vessels Transition Pathways’,a study that aims to show what is needed to enable the transition, both at the ship and supply infrastructure level, to deliver zero-emission vessels that are crucial to achieve IMO’s Greenhouse Gas Strategy 2050 ambition.
 
8.Tianjin Lingang Port Group plans to expand its port facilities this year at its Dagukou port with 12 new general cargo handling berths.
