China Shipping bulletins on December 5,2018


1.Gautam Ramaswamy,the Hong Kong Shipowners Association’s director (Regulatory Affairs) was an award recipient at the prestigious Indywood Marine/Offshore/Oil & Gas Excellence Awards 2018.
 
2.From November 29 to 30,local time,the 2nd EU-China CEO and Former Senior Officials Dialogue was held in Brussels,Belgium.The event was co-hosted by the China Center for International Economic Exchanges(CCIEE) and Business Europe.
 
3.Sources at China’s Maritime Safety Administration(MSA),the country intends to ban the use of open-loop scrubbers along its rivers.MSA officials are likely to announce the ban in the new year,while no long-term decision has been made on open-loop scrubber usage at China’s coastal ports.

8.Inflated spot charter rates for LNG tankers are easing as more ships becoming available, which could help increase LNG trade if Asian demand rises in coming months. Charter rates usually follow the price of LNG, which has fallen since September due to sluggish demand from Asian buyers.
