China Shipping bulletins on October 15,2018


1.China launched a new marine satellite into orbit earlier this month,aiming to enhance the understanding of maritime waters and climate change.Specifically,the satellite will provide with data for research on the global oceans' environment.
 
2.Sustainable Ocean Summit 2018 will be held on 14-16 November in Hong Kong,whose theme is "Ocean Sustainable Development - Connecting Asia and the World".
 
3.Port of Xiamen has published safety notice to vessels navigating in Xiamen coastal areas.

7.An IMO sub-committee has completed draft interim guidelines for the safety of ships using methyl/ethyl alcohol as fuel,setting them on course for formal approval by the IMO’s Maritime Safety Committee in 2020.
 
8.Taiwan shipping company Wan Hai Lines has joined INTTRA,the neutral network,software and information provider at the center of the ocean industry.This addition means INTTRA is now working with the top 12 carriers,said the company.
