On December 27, at berth No.6 of Ningbo Zhoushan Port Container Terminal, a red container is firmly lifted to "Mary Maersk", which marks the Ningbo Zhoushan Port to become the world's first annual cargo throughput over "1 billion tons", ranking first in the world for 9 years. This is a milestone for Ningbo Zhoushan Port to move from a big port to strong port.

Ningbo Zhoushan Port, located in the "Silk Road Economic Belt" and "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" intersection, neighboring the world's busiest Pacific main channel in the east and China's most dynamic Yangtze River Delta economic zone in the west , radiating China’s coastline in the north and south.

What is the concept of "1 billion tons"? It is equivalent to the sum of the weight of 100,000 Eiffel Tower. If you connect the Eiffel Tower end to end, it will circle around three quarters of the earth.

Ningbo Zhoushan Port will continue to improve the system of multimodal transport to enhance its shipping service capabilities and strive to achieve the goal of handling 1.25 billion tons of annual cargo throughput and 30 million TEU of container throughput by 2022.
